To say that I was startled about being chosen "blogger of
the week" last week is a large understatement. Not only are we not officially
homeschooling, I'm also not writing any kind of regular or well-written blog! I
enjoyed meeting several of The Old Schoolhouse people in April this year--of the
whole U.S. to choose from, how cool is it that the Suarez family lives about
half an hour from my parents in California?! And we didn't realize that until
AFTER I'd already been interviewed by telephone (by a writer in Washington,
while I was in New Mexico...) for the summer edition of the magazine. Anyway, my
suspicioun is that they chose me to publicize the situation in Germany, and for
that I am VERY grateful.
Today was also the first time I was able to check the
website in the last week or so, because my husband and I were at a Mission
School all last week. (It's a two-week school, but because the children have to
go back to school tomorrow, I can't participate in the second week. Last week
was during the autumn break.) I read all the comments, and very much appreciate
the encouragement spoken both in the comments and in private e-mails. Thank
you!
In the meantime...the Mission School (with Globe
Europe--I know they have a website, but I haven't looked at it yet) was
challenging and wonderful. I'm not sure that it didn't raise more questions than
it answered (so far, anyway--my husband will be there until Saturday), but it
did answer and confirm several issues, as well. I shouldn't make them public
here until we really know what's happening, but please continue to pray for us
in all the decisions that have to be made!
